Hellooooo, Batfans!

We've been deluged with questions from friends who want to know what's happening with our upcoming Halloweenish gigs. Here's the scoop, and let's make it a double of Graeter's Pumpkin, with whipped cream and a cherry on top. 'Cause who wouldn't like a fresh cherry?

Yes, Virginia, The Central Kentucky Blood Center Vampire Cabaret at Azur on Friday the 13th (Yikes!) is a GO. Entertainment by the fabulous Roger Bondurant and Jim Gleason begins around 7:00. The Bats take the stage at 8:00. Yes, we know it's going to be chilly outside. But we'll all be cozy under the heated big top on the patio. Not to mention the warmth provided by hot-blooded women (check it and see, got a fever of a hundred and three), hot music, and a few well-placed turtlenecks. If you RSVP'd to CKBC, we're expecting you! Think of it this way: it's your first opportunity to break out those sexy new thigh-high boots you splurged on .

On Friday, October 20, and Saturday, October 21, we'll be warmly and happily ensconced on the new stage at Natasha's Cafe for two frightfully spooktacular, longer-than-usual shows. One show per night at 8:00. Tickets are $10, and reservations are still available at 259-2754 (call Monday thru Friday, 11-4). We've shopped for extra-scary door prizes, we've added new songs to the repertoire, and we've invited special musical guests! On Friday, the fabulous acoustic trio Midlife Harmony will kick things off at 7:30. On Saturday, drummer Kopana Terry, she of Arista recording artists Stealin' Horses, will help us out on a couple of songs so that Craig Cornwell can drink an extra adult beverage. Or two. With a cherry.

We're so excited...and we just can't hide it...we're about to lose control and we think we like it! Really, if we can't indulge in Full-out Battiness at Halloween, when the heck can we? Or you, for that matter?
Frost Our Pumpkins...Please!
THE BATS
And now for something completely different.
Batfan Miles Osland asked us to tell you about his gig at Natasha's Cafe on Friday, October 27th, at 9 pm. For a measly $5, you can groove with Miles' original, international jazz fusion quartet, Cashew, which he describes as "Weather Report meets Steps Ahead with a touch of Ornette Coleman." Cashew's newest release has been put out by Block M Records and is available from Apple’s iTunes.
Saturday, October 28, Jim Gleason (stunt guitarist for The Bats) and the rest of The Johnson Brothers will return to Natasha's Cafe for a reprise of Steely Dan Night. The first one was a sold-out smash, so the Brothers decided they just have to do it again. Men are never satisfied!
