It's 2007, Batfans!
Hope that the big ball came down in all the right places last night, and that your New Year celebrations were as festive as you could stand, The Bats invite you to keep on dancin' and a-prancin' into 2007, and we've got two opportunities lined up for you to do just that.
On SATURDAY, JANUARY 20, we'll be back at Natasha's Cafe for two shows. We're going to start both shows earlier than usual, since it's the cold, dark days of winter. (Well, it's supposed to be cold this time of year, anyway, to tell you the Inconvenient Truth.) The Dinner Show will kick off at 7:00, and the Cocktail Show will start at 9:30. Cover is $8. Yep, $8. It's a new year, kids, and Momma has to pay the Christmas bills since Daddy ran off with that little slut from the office holiday party. "Executive Assistant," my a#s! Guess she did a good job of sharpening his pencil.
Anyway, here's the thing. If you're like all of us, you've got some yummy fancy frock that you invested your hard-earned $$ in, thinking it'd be perfect for New Year's Eve, only to find out that everybody decided to "go casual" this year. Well, dammit, January 20 is your chance to pull that hot little spangledy number out of the closet, polish up the Manolos you bought for 75% off at the After-Xmas Sale, lint-roll the rental tux you never took back, and show off your finery. And if your idea of dressing up involves a boa, a tiara, and a moo-moo, that's fine by us. Decide on your outfit, and call for reservations starting January 2 at (859) 259-2754. Have your credit card handy, because you'll need to give the Natasha's folks some vital numbers.
Now, some of you may be partied out, and not ready to be takin' it to the streets again by January 20. We totally get that, so we've lined up a concert for you: FEBRUARY 24 at Midway's Thoroughbred Theatre. The details are still sketchy, so check our web site, www.thebats.net, later in the month for further info. And yes, Virginia, there will be a Batmail about it.
Let us just say that we Bats had a great year with you in 2006! New venues, new songs, and new Batfans all gave us a boost last year, but the best part is, we got to keep the old favorites, too. As the years go by (Yipes!), y'all keep coming out and cheering us on, and we appreciate your support more than we can express to you in an email or a door prize. We raise a glass to you all, and a couple more just for the heck of it.
